Learn To Play The Violin - Beginners and Amateurs Techniques
How to play the violin if you are a beginner? What about if you are an amateur? Violin playing of all levels has no difference, actually. The most important point about violin is about the basics of the left and right hand.
For the left hand, the focus is on the fingering techniques of how to hold the violin properly so that the music produced can be expressed in the right way. It is very important grasp the right techniques as they form the basics of violin playing. If the basics are grasped wrongly, clearing such errors at later stages can be very hard.
A good way to make sure that the violin is held properly is to practice with active listening, or even better, having a piano to know exactly if which tones are played correctly. This strengthens the intonation of the player and allows for the ear to be trained. A huge part of violin playing relies on the ear for correcting and knowing if the hand is placed correctly.
Also, another factor to note is the right hand, which holds the bow. One way to practice the bow hand is to play the violin as slow as possible. This allows the hand to get used to various angles of the hand going from the start of the bow to the end of the bow. This trains the right hand to draw the bow in a straight line for each string individually, critical for the basics and advanced.
All these basic techniques can vastly be applied to violin players of all levels, even amateurs or professionals to improve violin playing skills.
